Drum the Beat, Don' t Beat the Drum
A collaboration event with between DFJIndo + DFC Malaysia
It will be a night of solid drum performances featuring DFC's Arthur Kam, Derrick Siow, Josh Wong, Cuzario David, Kok Yen & Vince Seah, along side with DFJ Indo's Jakobus Rizon, Jeff Gabriel and many more from Batam, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
When we first met John at DFC Shed Session 3 Johor Bahru, he was excited and geared up for another shed session in his hometown. Yes, Batam, Indonesia. First, when he invited us casually over dinner, I though of having a breakaway with the drummers after Undignified Singapore. That was a good idea, while we scout out Batam before making decision to have it in mid 2009.
John came back with an email few weeks later. Asked us to go, well after giving a few thoughts and...we agreed. It wasn't a hesitated decision, but why not kill 2 birds with one stone. Alright then, Batam here we come.
John came out with this brilliant theme, "Drum the Beat, Don't Beat the Drum". It's kinda cheezy but it gets-into-your-head. He has done awesome jobs to get the kits, booked a venue, rented the sound systems, got the drummers and even got this event announced on local radio and newspapers. "Any TV ad too, John?"
We are extremely excited and looking forward for the collaboration event. We dont know what to expect at the moment, but we believe God is doing something great in that land.
Also thanks to Gabby for her willing heart in hosting the event, with just one week of notice. I'm expecting God to move the people there, touch their hearts and convert them. I'm want to see God's wave of revival hit the nation of Indonesia, begin in Batam on this 11th Jan 2009, 6pm.
